Boulders Beach Penguin Colony is home to a growing colony of the African Penguin (Spheniscus demersus), also known as the Black-footed Penguin (and formerly as the Jackass Penguin). The first African Penguins colonized the Boulders Beach in 1982, where two breeding pairs moved into a Boulders beachfront between Simonstown and Cape Point. Nowadays there is a colony of more than 3000 birds, living at the Beach and surrounded Table Mountain National Park. Visitors can walk through area over wooden trails. The Beach is one of the best places to see Penguins all around the world. As Penguins are quite curious of the visitors, you can enjoy them from very close distance.
